History of Roland Foods
Roland Foods was founded in 1934 in Paris, France, by Bruno and Suzanne Scheidt. Initially, the
company focused on importing and distributing high-quality European ingredients. In 1940, as World
War II intensified, the Scheidts relocated the business to the United States, where it continued to
thrive. Over the years, Roland Foods built strong relationships with suppliers across Europe,
expanding its range of specialty food products.
Today, Roland Foods is headquartered in New
York City and is known for offering a wide variety of premium, global ingredients. The company
imports products from over 40 countries and serves a diverse range of customers, including
restaurants, grocers, and food manufacturers. Roland Foods has built a reputation for its commitment
to quality and authenticity, particularly in its selection of international products like Israeli
couscous, French oils, and Italian pasta.
