History of Neuhaus

Neuhaus, founded in 1857 in Brussels by Jean Neuhaus, began as a pharmacy where he introduced the concept of pralines — chocolate confections with fillings. His innovation, initially designed to help mask the taste of bitter medicines, quickly gained popularity, leading to the opening of the first Neuhaus chocolate shop in 1857. The creation of the praline, alongside a dedication to quality, became the hallmark of Neuhaus and helped shape Belgium's world-renowned chocolate industry.

Over the years, Neuhaus continued to evolve, expanding its reach internationally and introducing new varieties of chocolates, such as the famous 'ballotin' (chocolate box) in 1915, which was one of the first elegant packaging solutions for chocolates. Today, Neuhaus remains a luxury chocolate brand celebrated for its craftsmanship, rich history, and commitment to high-quality ingredients, maintaining its status as a global leader in the chocolate industry.
