History of Daylight Donuts
Daylight Donuts was founded in 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Tommy and Lucille Day. The couple developed a unique light and airy donut mix, which quickly gained popularity among local bakers. Instead of operating their own chain of stores, they chose to distribute their proprietary mix to independent donut shops, allowing small business owners to thrive under the Daylight Donuts brand.
Over the years, the company expanded rapidly, and today, there are over 900 Daylight Donuts shops across the United States and in several international locations. Despite its growth, the brand has maintained its focus on quality and community-based business, with each shop independently owned and operated. Daylight Donuts continues to be a favorite for its signature light-textured donuts and strong local connections.
