History of Daimler Truck
Daimler Truck traces its origins to the early automotive pioneers Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz, who developed the first motorized vehicles in the late 19th century. The company’s truck division was officially established in 1896 when Daimler created the world’s first truck. Over the decades, Daimler Trucks grew into a global leader in commercial vehicle manufacturing, producing innovative and reliable trucks under brands like Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, and Fuso.
In 2021, Daimler Truck became an independent company after spinning off from Daimler AG (now Mercedes-Benz Group). The move allowed it to focus entirely on commercial vehicle production, including advancements in electric and hydrogen-powered trucks. Today, Daimler Truck continues to lead the industry with sustainable transport solutions, investing in zero-emission technology and autonomous driving innovations.
