History of Sanex
Sanex, a brand known for its range of personal care products, was originally launched in the
Netherlands in 1984. It quickly gained popularity due to its focus on skin health and
dermatologically tested formulas. Sanex's product line includes shower gels, deodorants, and lotions
designed to maintain the natural balance of the skin. Its unique selling proposition of being
skin-friendly and clinically proven resonated well with consumers, particularly those with sensitive
skin.
Colgate-Palmolive acquired Sanex from the Sara Lee Corporation in 2011 for approximately
$940 million. This acquisition allowed Colgate-Palmolive to expand its presence in the European
market and enhance its personal care portfolio. Sanex has continued to grow under Colgate-Palmolive,
maintaining its reputation for high-quality, dermatologically tested products that promote skin
health.
