History of Arby's

Arby's was founded in 1964 by Forrest and Leroy Raffel in Boardman, Ohio. The name 'Arby’s' is derived from the initials 'R.B.' for Raffel Brothers. Initially, the restaurant focused on providing high-quality roast beef sandwiches, a unique concept at the time. The Raffel brothers aimed to offer a fast-food alternative to hamburgers, creating a menu centered around freshly sliced roast beef. The first Arby’s restaurant quickly gained popularity, and by 1965, the company had expanded to multiple locations.

Throughout the years, Arby's has undergone significant growth and change. It introduced new menu items such as the classic 'Arby’s Beef 'n Cheddar' and various deli-style sandwiches. In the 1980s, Arby’s began expanding internationally. The brand also embraced advertising campaigns that featured their unique offerings, including their slogan, 'We Have the Meats.' Today, Arby’s operates hundreds of locations worldwide, known for its roast beef sandwiches, unique variety of meats, and signature sauces, and continues to innovate with new menu items while maintaining its focus on high-quality meats.
