History of Sunlight

Sunlight is a famous brand of Unilever that was first introduced in 1884 in the United Kingdom by William Hesketh Lever. It began as Sunlight Soap and was one of the world’s earliest branded household products, promoting the idea of cleanliness and hygiene at a time when unbranded soap was common.

The success of Sunlight helped grow Lever Brothers into a major company. In 1930, Lever Brothers merged with Margarine Unie to form Unilever, bringing Sunlight under the Unilever umbrella. Over the years, the brand expanded beyond bar soap into dishwashing liquids and detergents.

Today, Sunlight is a trusted Unilever brand in many countries, especially across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It is known for its strong cleaning power, affordability, and long-standing reputation in household care products.
