History of Salesforce

Salesforce was founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Frank Dominguez, and Dave Moellenhoff with the vision of revolutionizing customer relationship management (CRM) through cloud computing. At a time when most CRM software was installed on-premises, Salesforce introduced a web-based, subscription-based model, making CRM more accessible and cost-effective. This innovation laid the foundation for the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry, allowing businesses to manage sales, customer interactions, and analytics entirely online.

Over the years, Salesforce expanded beyond CRM, launching products like Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. The company also acquired major firms, including Tableau for data visualization and Slack for workplace collaboration. Salesforce became a leader in enterprise cloud solutions, offering AI-driven insights through its Einstein AI platform. Today, it is one of the largest tech companies, continuously innovating in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and business automation.
