History of Duck Donuts
Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. The idea came from his family's struggle to find a warm, made-to-order donut shop while vacationing in the Outer Banks. To fill this gap, he created a unique donut experience where customers could customize their donuts with various coatings, toppings, and drizzles. The concept quickly gained popularity, leading to the opening of additional locations.
By 2013, Duck Donuts began franchising, expanding beyond North Carolina to multiple states across the U.S. and even internationally. The brand became known for its fresh, warm donuts, made-to-order service, and family-friendly atmosphere. Today, Duck Donuts continues to grow, maintaining its commitment to quality and customer experience while supporting community initiatives through charitable partnerships.
