History of Trigo
Trigo is an Israeli technology company founded in 2018 by Michael and Daniel Gabay. The company
specializes in building checkout-free retail solutions using computer vision and artificial
intelligence. Their system allows customers to walk into a store, pick up items, and leave without
physically checking out, as the technology automatically tracks items and charges the customer’s
account.
The founders, both with backgrounds in Israel’s Talpiot IDF military intelligence
unit, leveraged their expertise in advanced technology and AI to create a frictionless shopping
experience. Trigo initially focused on grocery retail, partnering with major chains to pilot and
implement its “grab-and-go” stores.
Over the years, Trigo has expanded globally, attracting
significant investment from venture capital firms. Their technology aims to reduce checkout lines,
improve efficiency, and enhance customer convenience, positioning Trigo as one of the leading
companies in the automated retail space.
