History of Telegram

Telegram was launched in 2013 by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the founders of VK, Russia’s largest social network. The app was created as a secure, fast, and cloud-based messaging platform, focusing on privacy and encryption. Telegram quickly gained popularity due to its end-to-end encryption features, self-destructing messages, and ability to create large group chats and channel.

Over the years, Telegram has expanded its features, including voice and video calls, bots, and a premium subscription model. It has often been at the center of political and privacy debates, as governments in some countries have attempted to ban or restrict it due to its encryption. Despite challenges, Telegram remains one of the most widely used messaging apps globally, with millions of active users.
