History of Infosys

Infosys was founded in 1981 by N. R. Narayana Murthy and six other engineers in Pune, India, with an initial investment of just $250. The company began as a small software development firm, but it quickly grew in prominence, establishing a reputation for delivering high-quality IT services. By the early 1990s, Infosys expanded its client base to international markets, particularly the United States, and became a pioneer in India's IT outsourcing industry. The company’s success was driven by its commitment to innovation, ethical business practices, and its ability to adapt to the evolving global technology landscape.

In the 2000s, Infosys made a significant mark on the global stage with its offerings in consulting, systems integration, and outsourcing services. It was one of the first Indian companies to be listed on the NASDAQ in 1999, symbolizing its transformation into a global player. As the company expanded into new markets, it invested in developing cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital transformation solutions. This focus on innovation helped Infosys maintain its position as a leader in the IT services sector.

Today, Infosys is a multinational corporation headquartered in Bengaluru, India, and is regarded as one of the largest IT services companies globally. It serves clients in over 50 countries and employs thousands of professionals worldwide. The company has continued to grow through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, expanding its portfolio to include next-generation technologies and digital services, while maintaining its core values of excellence and integrity.
