History of Hermès
Hermès, a French luxury brand, was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès as a harness workshop in Paris. Initially, the company specialized in high-quality horse saddles and bridles, catering to European nobility. As transportation evolved, Hermès expanded into leather goods, introducing its first bag in 1922 and later pioneering luxury accessories and fashion. The brand's commitment to craftsmanship and exclusivity helped establish its reputation for excellence.
In the 20th century, Hermès launched some of its most iconic products, including the Kelly bag (named after Grace Kelly) in the 1950s and the Birkin bag in the 1980s. The brand also expanded into silk scarves, perfumes, and ready-to-wear fashion. Despite its growth, Hermès has maintained its artisanal heritage, emphasizing handcrafting and limited production. Today, it remains one of the most prestigious luxury brands, synonymous with timeless elegance and exclusivity.
